Obtaining a liquor license in the City of Edgewater is a privilege and not a right. Edgewater Liquor Licensing Authority

Colorado liquor and beer retail licenses are issued by "dual" licensing authorities. The Edgewater Liquor Licensing Authority (“Authority”) is the City Council. The Authority must first approve all retail licenses before forwarding liquor and beer license applications to the State Liquor Enforcement Division. Licenses can take several months to acquire. Your first contact regarding liquor licensing in Edgewater is with the City Clerk’s Office. The City Clerk, acting on behalf of the Authority, is authorized to accept liquor license applications and begin their processing. You should communicate with the Edgewater City Clerk far in advance of your opening date. Failure to file applications far in advance of your opening date will most likely result in a delay.

Renewals

Liquor licenses are valid for one year from the date of the approval by the Colorado Liquor Enforcement Division and must be renewed each year. Approximately ninety (90) days prior to the expiration date of the license, you should receive a renewal application from the Colorado Liquor Enforcement Division. Completed renewal applications must be accompanied by both City and state fees and submitted, no later than 45 days, before the license expires to the City Clerk's Office for processing.

Changes

Any changes to your liquor license including a change in the operating manager, a change in corporate structure or trade name, a change in partnership or limited liability member, change in location, or transfer of ownership or modification of your licensed premises must be reported to the City Clerk's Office for consideration by both the local and state licensing authorities.
