New construction or renovations that touch the water line must put in an outside water meter pit and the meter must be moved outside. A Right-of-Way (ROW) Permit is required for this work and can be applied for using CommunityCore. In the case of a duplex being built each separate unit will need to have its own water line with a meter and sewer line.
If the property previously had an existing structure that was serviced by water and sewer then you only need to apply for one new water and sewer tap. If the property was not previously serviced, then each unit needs a new water and sewer tap. For a new duplex you will need to apply for a ROW permit, sewer tap and water tap.
